It is important that you are aware of some of the basic legal education rights that your special ASD child enjoys in United States.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) gives every person with a disability right to public education in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) possible.
It mandates that the educational authorities assess special students based on their unique needs and not follow a general assessment for all. The educators create an Individualized Education Plan for the disabled child that can involve parents and healthcare professionals.
All children with disability are entitled to intervention and special education. These programs can vary depending on the state you reside in but have a common goal of reducing the impact of disability on the quality of life of the child.
Applied behavioral analysis (ABA), communication skills interventions and occupational and speech therapy are examples of these programs.
